The International Association for Research in Economic Psychology (IAREP) is an organization that helps promote research in the important area of economic psychology and behavioral economics, and if you are interested in this area I highly recommend that you join IAREP, come to its conferences and other activities (such as workshops and summer schools), and read the journal it sponsors, the Journal of Economic Psychology. IAREP often collaborates with the Society for the Advancement of Behavioral Economics (SABE) to organize joint conferences, workshops, etc.

My own involvement in IAREP has started shortly after I got my Ph.D. from Northwestern University at 2004, when I attended the IAREP-SABE conference in Philadelphia. Since then I only missed one annual conference (when I had a two-months old baby at home...). In 2008 I was elected to be IAREP Honorary Secretary, which includes the tasks of maintaining and updating IAREP website, and of editing the newsletter. I also chaired a committee whose task was to come up with a proposal for a confederation between IAREP and SABE, and this proposal was accepted at the IAREP-SABE 2009 conference in Halifax. I now chair the Executive Committee of this new confederation, called The International Confederation for the Advancement of Behavioral Economics and Economic Psychology (ICABEEP). In a few months I will step down from being IAREP Honorary Secretary (but will continue to edit the newsletter), and will become the President-Elect of SABE. I am glad and honored that I can contribute to behavioral economics and economic psychology not only as a researcher but also in these various roles.

Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions - see the links to my e-mail and website above.
