IAREP PhD Student Conference Fee Waiver Program 2018

To ensure that accepted submissions by PhD students at the 2018 IAREP conference in London (see: https://economics.mdx.ac.uk/sabe-2018/) do not have to be cancelled for financial reasons, IAREP established funding for a PhD student conference fee waiver program. This new program covers the student early registration fee (300 GBP) for up to five PhD students.

The following rules apply for this new program:
* The conference submission has to be accepted as an oral presentation.
* The PhD student has to be the presenting author of that submission.
* The PhD student is asked to send a brief application email by April 15, 2018 to the secretary of IAREP (Cäzilia Loibl: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), providing reasons for why this funding is requested and other funding is not available.
* Together with the application, the PhD student is asked to provide a letter by the PhD advisor stating why it is important for the student to attend the SABE/IAREP conference in London and confirming that funding from the department (or the project in which the student is employed) is insufficient to cover all of the conference expenses of the PhD student.
* All applications will be evaluated by the IAREP Managing Committee.

We look forward to receiving your application for the fee waiver program!

Best PhD Student Paper Competition 2018, Elsevier/IAREP/SABE

The Best PhD Student Paper Competition is a highlight of each IAREP / SABE conference. Elsevier, the publisher of the Journal of Economic Psychology and the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics, sponsors the competition.
* The winner of the Elsevier/IAREP/SABE Best PhD Student Paper Competition 2018 receives 1000 Euro and a year's electronic subscription to either the Journal of Economic Psychology or the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics.
* The second and third place will receive a year's electronic subscription to either journal.
The three winners will be honored at the conference, will receive a certificate, and will be listed in the associations’ newsletters.

A committee of IAREP and SABE members will evaluate the submitted papers. The criteria are: (a) interest of paper topic for economic psychology; (b) quality of research; and (c) quality of writing.

The following rules apply for this competition:
* The conference submission has to be accepted as an oral presentation.
* The PhD student has to be the presenting author of that submission.
* The PhD student is asked to apply for the competition by sending a complete manuscript of the conference submission by June 1, 2018 to the secretaries of IAREP (Cäzilia Loibl: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) and SABE (Behnud Mir Djawadi: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ).
* To allow for blinded review, author information should only be provided on a separate title-page file and not included in the manuscript file.
* On the title page, the PhD student should provide a statement about each author’s contribution to the manuscript. The applicant is expected to be the first author and main contributor.
* PhD students are only eligible for the competition if they participate in the 2018 SABE/IAREP conference in London.

Advisors, please encourage your PhD students to submit their best current work to the conference at https://economics.mdx.ac.uk/sabe-2018/  before February 15, 2018 and remind them to submit a complete manuscript for the competition. We look forward to receiving your submissions!
